ATA acquired the manufacturing activities of Näpflin Schleiftechnik.

With the acquisition of Näpflin’s micro tool manufacturing, ATA further expands its product line and manufacturing capabilities to include high quality micro tools for specialist applications.

Näpflin is owned and managed by Roland Näpflin, who has nearly thirty years of experience in the design and manufacture of precision tools. The company manufactures a range of carbide micro burrs for highly specialized applications and provides resharpening and distribution services for a wider range of carbide cutting tools. Näpflin is a long-term manufacturing partner of Karnasch Professional Tools, which ATA previously acquired in 2019.

Under the terms of the transaction, ATA acquired a controlling interest in the manufacturing business, including related business, assets, employees and equipment. Roland Näpflin will retain a minority stake in the new entity, ATA Tools Switzerland. He has also been appointed Managing Director of ATA Tools Switzerland and will oversee the strategic development and growth of the new entity within the group.

Following its acquisition of Karnasch Professional Tools in 2019, the acquisition and creation of ATA Tools Switzerland further expands the company’s product development and manufacturing capabilities to offer a wider range of precision tools to the global clientele.

Designated Corporate Development Direct Group

ATA also announces that, effective late August 2021, it has appointed Shane Lawlor as the Group’s Director of Business Development. He will work on a range of M&A and corporate finance projects and will provide particular attention to the company’s acquisition strategy.

Lawlor is a qualified chartered accountant who trained at PWC and, prior to joining ATA, spent over fourteen years as a senior director of corporate finance at Investec Bank Ireland (formerly NCB Stockbrokers). He also spent eight years in London with Close Brothers Corporate Finance and Hewlett Packard. Shane has extensive experience advising large public and private companies on a wide range of fundraisings, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic projects.
