THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota — Digi-Key Electronics, which offers the world’s largest selection of in-stock electronic components for immediate shipment, announced that it has entered into a worldwide distribution agreement with the line of radiation-hardened GaN-on (rad hard) from EPC Space – transistors and silicon integrated circuits, which are packaged, tested and qualified for satellite and high-reliability applications.

Covering a range from 40V to 300V, EPC Space offers a family of rad hard enhancement mode power transistors. These power transistors have significant performance advantages over competing silicon-based hard power MOSFETs. EPC Space technology produces GaN devices that are smaller, have lower resistance, and have switching performance several times better than silicon solutions.

“The addition of EPC Space’s ultra-hard gallium nitride power management products completes EPC’s entire product portfolio through Digi-Key and brings intriguing next-generation benefits to solutions at existing silicon base,” said David Stein, vice president of global vendor management for Digi-Key. “We are excited to be able to bring these innovative products to the high reliability engineering community.”

“Digi-Key has the fastest global logistics and the most efficient supply chain to serve customers from initial engineering to mass production,” said Bel Lazar, CEO of EPC Space. “Digi-Key’s world-class distribution capabilities will result in fast and easy service for our global customers who want access to EPC’s full line of GaN power device products to replace their less efficient silicon solutions. and more expensive.

Digi-Key will also distribute EPC Space’s line of GaN drivers and power stages in rad hard enhancement mode. Rad Hard GaN drivers are optimized for driving Rad Hard GaN transistors in critical space systems. Rad Hard power stages integrate a high-speed gate driver circuit with power switches to provide a complete monolithic power stage in a small footprint for smaller, lighter systems.
