An investment subsidiary of JF Lehman & Co. purchased a division of L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) which manufactures radio frequency and microwave technologies for defense and commercial applications.

The private equity firm said on Tuesday it had bought Narda-MITEQ the division’s assets which were part of L3Harris’ aviation systems segment; and the stock of Narda Safety Test Solutions, which markets equipment designed to identify electromagnetic fields and RF sources.

Narda-MITEQ has nearly 400 employees in the United States, Italy and Germany and over six decades of experience providing custom components and subsystems to RF and microwave electronics manufacturers.

Bob Tavares will serve as CEO of the acquired company.

L3Harris requested financial and legal advisory services from Houlihan Lokey and Holland & Knight, respectively.

Barings Finance and Siemens Financial Services provided debt financing for the transaction and Shearman & Sterling acted as lead legal counsel to JF Lehman on the transaction.

Jones Day acted as an advisor for debt financing while Baker Hostetler acted as an advisor to the private equity firm for government contracts, defense security and international trade.
